Enery investiert in 36 Solarkraftwerke in der Tschechischen Republik – Englische Presseaussendung

Press Announcement: Enery is acquiring 36 solar PV plants in the Czech Republic

Enery Development GmbH (“Enery” or the “Company”), a Vienna-based renewable energy company which recently received a substantial equity investment from the Three Seas Initiative Fund (“3SIIF”), has completed the acquisition of the Energy 21 solar PV portfolio (“Energy 21” or the “Portfolio”) owned by funds managed by CEE Equity Partners Ltd (the “Seller”).

Energy 21 is the third largest operational solar PV portfolio in the Czech Republic and consists of 36 solar PV power plants with a total installed capacity of 71 MW. With this acquisition, Enery has now 45 solar PV power plants in operation under its ownership and becomes one of the leading renewable energy operators in Central and Eastern Europe (“CEE”).

The majority of the Portfolio is located in the Moravia and Bohemia regions benefiting from the most favourable solar irradiation in the country. The Portfolio will be merged with Enery’s existing six solar PV power plants in the Czech Republic which have a total capacity of 21 MW.

The acquisition of Energy 21 is a milestone transaction for Enery and continues the Company’s successful track record of renewable investments in the CEE region.

Richard König, CEO and Lukas Nemec, COO of Enery commented: „We are pleased that we could complete this transaction during a period of regulatory uncertainty in the Czech renewables market. In the next decade, the Czech power generation market will undergo a process of radical decarbonisation and will shift towards green and sustainable electricity production with solar PV representing the leading technology for this transition. We look forward to contributing to this transformation by producing green power, creating sustainable jobs, and working with the local communities to increase the positive impact of this energy transition. We would like to thank CEE Equity Partners for their trust and professional work and the Energy 21 team for their cooperative approach during the transaction. The transaction underpins our desire to continue growing our renewables portfolio via greenfield development and brownfield expansion.”
