Enery’s First PV Power Plant in Estonia is Now Operational

Tallinn/ Vienna, 3rd October 2023 – Enery, a leading renewable energy provider operating in Central & Eastern Europe, is proud to announce the inauguration of its first photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Estonia, located near the Rummu settlement. Thе photovoltaic facility has a capacity of 20 MWp, covering a total land area of 35 hectares.

The Rummu PV power plant is the first standalone utility-scale PV plant connected to transmission network in Estonia and the first of two projects in Estonia that Enery has completed. This is a big step forward for Enery, and it marks the beginning of the company’s operations in the Baltic region.

Next to Rummu, Enery is also currently putting its second Estonian PV power plant, Jersey, with a capacity of 12 MW into operations. The Jersey PV power plant is located near the Järsi village. Both PV plants utilize the innovative technology of tracking and bifacial modules that enable to increase the annual production by approximately 20% compared to traditional fixed tilt systems.

Together, Rummu and Jersey will generate 37,4 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually, helping to reduce up to 24 550 tons of CO2 emissions which is equal to the average annual consumption of around 12,366 households.

These projects were made possible by the great effort of our team and the support of our co-shareholder Three Seas Initiative Investment Fund (3SIIF).

Margus Potisepp, Managing Director of Enery Estonia, comments: “We are honoured to participate in Estonia’s renewable energy transition. Estonia possesses immense green energy potential, and Enery is committed to harnessing this potential responsibly, adhering to the highest health and safety standards and ethical principles.”

Richard König & Lukas Nemec, Founders of Enery, comments: “This marks another milestone for our young company, as both projects were developed and constructed by our in-house team. Just 2 years after entering Estonia, we are very proud of this achievement of starting to generate green electricity from our two new power plants. We are convinced that renewable energy is important to ensure energy independence of Estonia and therefore are happy to be able to contribute to this ambition.”
