Enery, a leading independent power producer in Central and Eastern Europe, has officially opened Stella PV power plant, its new 37 MWp solar power plant in Dynín, South Bohemia. Located alongside a motorway, the plant will supply renewable electricity to automotive supplier BENTELER under a long-term green Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The project shows how renewable energy can help Czech businesses lower their energy costs at a time of volatile fossil fuel prices.

Stella consists of 51,636 solar modules and is expected to generate 47.2 GWh of electricity per year, equivalent to the annual consumption of roughly 15,700 Czech households. The plant uses bifacial modules mounted on single-axis trackers, which follow the sun throughout the day to maximize output. It is also digitally monitored and controlled, allowing Enery to track its performance in real time and operate it in line with distribution grid requirements.

“Stella is a model project for the Czech solar industry,” said Jan Krčmář, Executive Director of the Czech Solar Association. “It was built without subsidies, sits alongside a motorway, and thanks to modern high-performance panels and tracking systems, it takes up far less land than the solar plants the Czech public remembers from the 2009–2010 solar boom.”

Krčmář also noted that many other projects in Czechia are ready to be built and could quickly deliver affordable electricity to businesses, as well as to households without suitable rooftops for their own solar panels.

The PPA with BENTELER links new renewable generation directly to the customer’s long-term energy needs. It is one of three long-term green PPAs Enery has signed in Czechia, reinforcing the company’s position as one of the most active players in the Czech corporate PPA market. The agreement also marks a further step in Enery’s strategy to build a more commercially driven and diversified portfolio, combining renewable generation with long-term offtake arrangements tailored to industrial and commercial customers.

Stella PV plant is also a milestone for Enery’s Czech business: it is the first plant in its Czech portfolio that the company has developed and built entirely on its own since entering the market.

“Project Stella means much more to us than just another solar plant in our portfolio,” said Pavel Maleček, Managing Director Czech Republic at Enery. “It is the first project in Czechia that we have taken through every stage ourselves, from development and construction to commissioning. The long-term PPA behind Stella PV also shows the direction we want to take in the Czech market: connecting new renewable generation with commercial solutions that meet the real energy needs of industrial customers.”

Enery is an independent power producer committed to providing its customers with reliable, affordable, and long-term green energy solutions. The company operates a diversified portfolio with 2 GW under construction and in operation, generating 1,095 GWh of clean electricity annually – enough to power more than 1,002,121 households, while avoiding approximately 625,069 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. With a project pipeline of nearly 10 GW across 10 countries in Central and Eastern Europe, Enery is playing a major role in advancing the energy transition in the region. In addition to developing, constructing, and operating renewable energy projects, Enery is also a leader in optimizing revenue streams for utility-scale generation and storage assets, managing 8.5 GWh of third-party battery storage capacity. Enery supplies industrial customers with around-the-clock green energy and is among the leading providers of corporate green PPAs in the region.
