The partnership between Enery and voestalpine is entering its next phase: a rooftop photovoltaic system in Pardubice, Czechia, is now supplying clean electricity to Nedcon Bohemia’s local site.
Where high performance, precision, and industrial strength usually define daily operations, the sun is now taking on a visible role as well. At the headquarters of Nedcon Bohemia s.r.o, part of voestalpine’s Metal Forming Division, a modern rooftop PV installation developed by Enery has recently gone into operation. With an installed capacity of 805 kWp, the system generates more than 800 MWh of clean electricity per year—enough to cover a substantial share of local demand.
The benefits are clear. Compared with the Czech energy mix, the installation avoids around 320 tonnes of CO2 every year. Just as importantly, the electricity is consumed directly on site and secured through a long-term power purchase agreement with a term of 20 years.
Planning Security Meets Sustainability
For Nedcon Bohemia, the system is far more than a climate-friendly power source. According to Cristian Codrea, Head of Enery Industry Partnership, the company can now cover part of its electricity needs with renewable energy generated directly at its own location. Alongside the environmental benefits, the installation also provides financial predictability through long-term planning horizons and fixed electricity prices over two decades. Enery will handle operations and maintenance (O&M) throughout the full contract period, allowing Nedcon Bohemia to stay focused on its core business.

The project is part of a broader series of solar solutions that Enery develops specifically for industrial customers in Central and Eastern Europe. A year earlier, the company had already drawn attention with a similar project in Krieglach, Austria, where a large PV plant was installed together with voestalpine. The Pardubice project shows that these are not isolated one-off developments, but part of a strategic partnership with long-term ambitions.

In the case of Nedcon Bohemia, maximizing the use of the available roof area was a central design objective.
